I pledge not to produce software that publishes information, by default, in a proprietary, non-free format. These formats, by definition, include but are not limited to the following:

1. formats that lock the user into a specific operating system platform or architecture
2. formats that cannot be freely implemented in commercial or non-commercial projects
3. formats stored in binary-only, unpublished formats
4. formats that contain references to other binary-only, undocumented objects
